(Sometimes referred to as the Nudie, Naked, Naturist or Swimsuit optional beaches)
Nudity is a big draw for people to come to Negril so a number of its resorts, especially its couples only resorts make provision for nude bathing and sunning in various isolated sections on their grounds.
Most of these nude resorts reserve a section of their beach just for their adult patrons to go totally au natural as does the Breezes Grand Resort, Hedonism II and the Point Village resorts.
Other resorts are swimsuit optional or just allow females to go topless on their beach, on their cliff oceanfront and in their pool or poolbar.
Because so many families with young and / or adolescent children are staying in most resorts, they do not permit nudity and female topless sunning or topless bathing except in in isolated sections where children are prohibited.
Sometimes tourists from more permissive societies (like those from Scandinavia) will unintentionally violate this rule, in which case security personnel will politely ask them to please put their clothes on for the sake of the children.
But on the naturist beaches adult and child nudity are both permitted.
So you will have to review each resort's website or call them to find out what amount of nakedness is allowed and where it is permitted in their facility.
But at the couples only resorts, topless women and full nudity for both sexes are probably permitted in which case clothed beach strollers who encounter it are prohibited from photographing it
This is except in special circumstances where special permission from the resort is granted for advertising purposes.
Most nude beaches in Negril require all adults who are on them to also be nude so as to discourage undesirable gawkers. That's why you'll see only nude adult people strolling within their isolated nude beaches.
